Ducati Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak Unveiled

The Ducati Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak features the same 170 horsepower as the'regular' V4.

In the third instalment of the Ducati World Premiere 2022, Ducati debuted the Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak, the adventure tourer's sportiest variant.

The motorbike is built on the Multistrada V4 chassis and features an unique "Pikes Peak" livery inspired by the MotoGP race-winning Desmosedici GP '21.

The motorbike features a specialised chassis, Ohlins suspension, a single-sided swingarm, a modified riding posture, a 17-inch front wheel, and sporty road tyres, according to the Italian manufacturer.

The bike has carbon-fibre components, a smoked flyscreen, an Akrapovic titanium and carbon silencer, and a 2-tone Black and Red rear saddle with the V4 emblem that distinguishes it from other Multistrada V4 variants.

There are more changes beneath the surface than meets the eye. Ducati has tweaked the steering head angle (now 25.75 degrees instead of 24.5 degrees on the normal V4), as well as the trail and wheelbase geometry.

In addition, the handlebar has been narrowed, and the footpegs have been raised and shifted backward (in comparison to the Multistrada V4) to make achieving maximum lean angles a little simpler.

The bike's 17-inch wheels are forged aluminium jobbies from Marchesini, with 120/70-section front and 190/55-section rear tyres. They're 2.7 kg lighter than the Multistrada V4 S. Overall, the bike is 4 kilogrammes less than the V4 S, at 239 kg (wet).

The 1158cc V4 Granturismo engine produces 170 horsepower at 10,500 RPM and 125 Nm of torque at 8750 RPM. It's paired with a 6-speed transmission with a slipper clutch and quickshifter.

The Ducati Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak inherits the Multistrada V4 S's technological kit, which incorporates radar-based Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) and Blind Spot Detection (BSD).

The package also features riding modes (including a new 'Race' mode), wheelie control, cornering ABS, Ohlins Smart EC 2.0 suspension, and a 6.5-inch TFT display with Ducati Connect.

The V4 Pikes Peak has twin 330 mm front discs with Brembo Stylema monobloc callipers and a single 265 mm rear disc with a Brembo floating calliper for stopping power.
